Our Sunday Reset Routine
We prepared a Sunday Reset Routine to fight the Sunday Scaries. Because who hasn’t experienced them?
Having the day off, while still knowing you must catch up on all the stuff you didn’t do in the week, plus everything you have to the upcoming week, can be a little stressing. The secret is to give Sunday a different meaning, using it to regain your focus and energy increase your productivity for the next week.
We know you’ve seen several videos of a romanticized view of someone having a low-key but very productive day: stirring their matcha, vacuuming their apartment, doing a face mask, hanging eucalyptus in their shower, restocking the fridge as Etta James’ “Sunday Kind of Love” plays in the background.
But, what does your Sunday need to have to be a Relaxing Sunday Reset?
- Something to clear your mind
- Something to clear your environment
- Anything indulgent for your body
- Something relaxing for your mind
A good way to start your day is to have a slowly morning. Try to sleep in (but up to a decent time), don’t use an alarm and allow your body to rest. Next, move mindfully. Even if you don’t feel like moving your body at all, you’ll feel better if you just do it a little bit—trust us. Do at-home pilates or a quick yoga session.
After this, your Sunday Reset Routine can start:
Take a moment and look around. It’s a perfect opportunity to reflect on your past week and figure out what you’d like to prioritize for the next one. Meditate or journal to write your thoughts down if you want. Be super appreciative of your amazing self. You are healthy, and you’ve got lots of life and love to share with the world.
2. Organize your life
Write a to-do list, journal, or plan out what you want to accomplish today and in the upcoming week. Don’t overwhelm yourself! Reply to emails that are a priority, pay outstanding bills, schedule payments. Meal prep for the week, this will save you a lot of time and money. Review your goals and set new ones. Then, declutter your space. Start with your bedroom first and then do another area where you spend most of your time. Don’t try to tackle the whole house in one day.
3. Practice self-care
Moreover, unplug yourself from social media, TV, Netflix, etc. Try to spend 24 hours without this stuff and it’ll do wonders for your mental health. Do a body detox. Make a healthy smoothie or meal. Read, listen to music, draw, walk or something that’s positively stimulating. Give yourself a facial, do your 10-step skincare routine to feel rejuvenated.
Lastly, don’t forget to be present in the moment and end your Sunday on a relaxing note. Snuggle with your pet and read a book, or take a bubble bath, or watch a movie with your partner and family. Do something effortlessly.
Have a Happy Sunday Reset!
